Dallas Ford

Dallas is from Big Rapids Michigan and moved to Ypsilanti after serving 7 years in the Army to start his education at Eastern Michigan University. While getting his Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology, he rekindled a love for the outdoors instilled in him as a child growing up on a farm. This love became intertwined with a desire to be involved in environmental justice through his education in sociology. Seeking to effectively combine these things he continued his education by getting a Masters degree in landscape architecture at University of Michigan.

Dallas is passionate about photography, especially nature photography and specifically capturing macro photographs of plants in ways that highlight the beauty that is often overlooked. His favorite tree is actually the genus Populous because they wave to you. He also enjoys biking and working with the Ypsilanti bike coop to fix bikes and get more people riding bikes.
