Come see what Merriman Hollow is all about! We have planted a demonstration garden of native plants to Michigan that support wildlife while also providing a place to walk, sit, and learn for people. A path meanders through the site while benches allow for admiration of the native wildlife. We will have educational activities as well as trash removal, weeding, planting, mulching, and installing native bee houses. We will also be giving away native plants for use in your own home!
We typically have a diverse group of people including Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Green Teams, Master Gardeners, National Honor Societies, and other interested people. Please bring non-glossy newspaper and cardboard to assist with mulching. Also bring a drink, snack, and garden tools.
We also hold work days on a Saturday once a month to maintain the native garden. See more about these other work days at: https://therouge.org/merriman-hollow-work-days/
