Salary: Bi-weekly living allowance of $675 + additional benefits through AmeriCorps
Position Background
The Friends of the Rouge VISTA Project will develop strategies to improve quality of life for youth, adults, and families throughout southeast Michigan by increasing involvement with the health of the river and encouraging outdoor activities. The AmeriCorps VISTA member will help existing programs build capacity in community outreach and volunteerism, expanding FOTR’s reach and program impact. This VISTA assignment will intentionally identify individuals in those communities/neighborhoods with little Friends of the Rouge involvement with the goal to increase awareness, river and program access, and gather input to design programs that better meet their needs in addition to amplifying engagement within all of our communities. The start date for this AmeriCorps VISTA member would be in May 2023.
