
Leilani Russell is a Detroit native, grower, and visual storyteller passionate about food access, environmental justice, and creative land use. She co-owns KIJANIPRINT MICROFARM, a mother-daughter indoor farm, and runs Leilani Denise Photography. Through microgreens, photography, and advocacy, Leilani works to reconnect people with the land and challenge the boundaries of who gets to grow, heal, and lead. A former women’s tackle football player and NFL alumni, she currently serves as the Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) Restoration Apprentice at Friends of the Rouge. In her free time, you’ll likely find her at Belle Isle photographing nature, walking the trails, and spending time outdoors across one of Detroit’s most iconic landscapes.
