Marion Martyres is the Volunteer Coordinator at Friends of the Rouge. She grew up in Southeast Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies and a minor in Environmental Sciences.

She most recently worked at River Raisin Institute, an environmental nonprofit in her hometown to support environmental education programs. Through that experience, Marion discovered a passion for working with the volunteers and wanted to continue supporting people as they become environmental stewards. Her commitment to environmental justice also helps her ensure that volunteer opportunities are accessible and inclusive, allowing everyone to contribute in ways that work best for them.

Marion is excited to support the amazing volunteers at Friends of the Rouge. In her free time, she enjoys reading, nature walks, traveling, and enjoying good food.
