Vishnu joined Friends of the Rouge as a Landscape Designer in 2024, inspired by the organization’s community-centered approach to watershed restoration. He looks forward to contributing to FOTR’s ongoing work to enhance biodiversity, improve access to green spaces, and advance the Rouge River’s health through green infrastructure and nature-based solutions.
He recently graduated from the University of Michigan’s School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) with graduate degrees in Landscape Architecture and Geospatial Data Science. During his time at SEAS, he worked as a Research Assistant at the Sustainable Futures Hub, where he contributed to developing interactive 3D games that aimed at enhancing public participation in design processes and environmental education.
Prior to his graduate studies, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and worked as a Junior Designer in India, gaining experience in residential and commercial landscape projects. Outside of work, Vishnu enjoys exploring local parks, museums, and regional trails in Southeast Michigan.
