A group of local developers is planning a series of restaurants and a co-working space at the old Andiamo site at the Rouge Gateway Greenway Trailhead in Dearborn. Friends of the Rouge is working with community stakeholders to develop Phase II of the Rouge Gateway Greenway that will extend the existing trail from the Campus at the University of Michigan Dearborn along the Rouge River to the Henry Ford Museum Campus at Village Road and the Southfield Freeway Service Drive. Perhaps this proposed development is budding evidence that trails bring benefits to communities even beyond enhancing mobility, creating greater access to recreation, and offering connections to nature.
