Cara is the Operations and Membership Assistant with Friends of the Rouge, supporting the administrative operations and growth of the organization. She joined the team in 2021 and is grateful to be in a role that combines her passion for the environment with her background in public affairs and nonprofit work.

In addition to working with Friends the Friends of the Rouge, Cara is a Board Trustee with Friends of Rouge Park, working to develop programming and help advocate for the enhancement of Rouge Park.

Cara holds a BA in Comparative Cultures & Politics from Michigan State University. While at MSU, Cara worked as a Teaching Assistant for a course in Entomology and Global Sustainability and interned at a Lansing-based lobby firm, working on state legislation.

Cara grew up in West Michigan near the lakeshore and now lives in Metro Detroit with her partner Drake and their two dogs.
