A huge thank you to everyone who came out for our recent PARC Rain Garden Spruce Up event—Picnic in the PARC! We had an absolutely lovely morning surrounded by our beautiful rain garden plants and all their pollinator buddies. Your genuine enthusiasm and hard work made the day truly special, and our PARC gardens would not be as fantastic without the involvement of all our Friends. Thank you all for making a meaningful impact and for being such valued members of our Rouge Watershed community.

At each monthly Spruce Up, we tackle a different invasive weed in our rain gardens. This month, our dedicated volunteers took on the challenge of Bindweed. This weed is quite rude, wrapping itself around other plants to stunt their growth or kill them entirely. Removing it can be a painstaking task, but our wonderful volunteers approached it with smiles, great conversation, and groovy tunes. We’re truly grateful to be part of such a fantastic and supportive community.

We’re excited to announce our next Spruce Up event, Kinder-GARDEN, taking place on August 24th. This event will be a fantastic opportunity for all levels of experience to get involved, as we’ll be incorporating additional educational elements for those eager to dive into gardening but unsure where to begin. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting out, we welcome you to join us and learn while contributing to the growth and health of our community rain gardens. Sign up Here!

Thank you once again for your incredible contributions and for helping us to make our gardens thrive. We look forward to seeing you at Kinder-GARDEN!
