We were so excited for spring and the plants that come with it, we just couldn’t wait for the weather to catch up. During the month of March, we pitted some of our favorite rain garden plants against each other, and asked you to vote for the best. There were some close calls, but in the end you picked purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) as your number one rain garden plant! Scroll down to see all the plants that competed in this tournament as well as the bracket with the results from each round.

The tournament may be over, but there’s more to see! Check out Friends of the Rouge on Facebook and Instagram.

Congratulations to our final winner, purple coneflower, and a big thank you to everyone who voted in this competition!
