Friends of the Rouge Joins Newman’s Own Foundation $500k Holiday Challenge on Crowdrise

Help Friends of the Rouge win $150,000 by donating to its CrowdRise campaign

Friends of the Rouge has joined the Newman’s Own Foundation $500k Holiday Challenge, a fundraising competition on CrowdRise, the largest crowdfunding platform for good. Newman’s Own Foundation $500k Holiday Challenge is a friendly fundraising campaign for eligible U.S.-based 501(c)3 charities. Participating organizations will compete for half of one million dollars in prize money. Friends of the Rouge has joined the challenge on CrowdRise in hopes of raising money to support communities making the Rouge River fishable and paddlable, beating back the spread of invasive plants and animals, and educating Metro Detroit children about stewarding their backyard river.

“This year, we combined our year-end-appeal with a unique opportunity to leverage additional funds through Newman’s Own Holiday Charity Challenge,” explained Marie McCormick, Executive Director. “As a member of the Rouge watershed, or someone who has many memories tied to southeast Michigan – we know that each individual has the power to improve the health of the Rouge River.”

Your contribution will go the extra paddle length in helping us carry out our mission: assisting communities making the Rouge River fishable and paddlable, beating back the spread of invasive plants and animals, and educating Metro Detroit children about stewarding their backyard river.

After thirty-one years serving our community and the greater Rouge Watershed, we continue to do the work our founders set out to do – restore and protect the Rouge River!

Remember:
YOU make all the difference.
