Friends of the Rouge worked to completed the design and installation of interpretive signs at 8 Land + Water Works rain gardens located at schools, churches, and community resource centers around Detroit. The signs were designed with extensive community input, and are meant to educate the public about the benefits of rain gardens while increasing community interaction with the rain garden sites. Signs have been installed at:

  • Bethany Lutheran Church
  • Burton International Academy
  • Cristo Rey School
  • Oak Grove Church
  • Oakland Avenue Urban Farm
  • St. Suzanne Cody Rouge Community Resource Center
  • Wellspring Community Outreach
