Project description: Join the effort to build a brand new rain garden at Weatherization Training House in Highland Park! Over the course of three volunteer days, we’ll mulch and plant this demonstration rain garden, which will soak up and filter thousands of gallons of stormwater every time it rains. The garden will feature an attractive diversity of native plants that support birds, butterflies, and pollinator species. This year, make a real difference on behalf of your Rouge River!
Workday location: Weatherization Training House (across street from Wayne Metro Cortland Community Impact Center) in Highland Park – Volunteers should park along the street near the address.
Registered participants will receive a map the week before the project.
