Lee Trumbull

Lee Trumbull is one of Friends of the Rouge’s interns and began working with the organization in January 2024. He is passionate about restoring and maintaining the health of the watersheds in his new home of southeast Michigan.

Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, Lee is familiar with how important a healthy ecosystem is to the health and safety of the communities that live in and around said ecosystems.

In 2014 a Cyanobacteria bloom in Lake Erie led to a water crisis in Toledo, in which residents were advised not to drink their tap water. This event sparked an interest in environmental science for Lee.

In 2021 Lee moved to Michigan and began attending Eastern Michigan University to pursue an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and Society with a concentration in Hydrology. Upon graduating he hopes to continue working in environmental remediation.

Lee now calls Dexter, Michigan home, where he lives with his partner Alex and their two cats, Reese and Sasha, and their dog Linus.
