Project description: Thank you for your interest in contributing to a healthier Rouge River! Join Friends of the Rouge as we install a rain garden and two small habitat gardens at Charles A. Lindbergh Elementary in Dearborn. Rain gardens play a key role in keeping our rivers and lakes clean by capturing and storing rainwater, which helps to prevent flooding and keep pollution out of our waterways. In addition, these three gardens provide valuable habitat for birds and pollinators, and offer critical learning opportunities for students and the community! Come spend a few hours with us creating these gardens on a beautiful autumn day!
Please note, we will working in two shifts: The morning shift is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and the afternoon shift is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Please use the links above to register for your preferred timeframe.
Workday location: Lindbergh Elementary School – 500 N. Waverly St., Dearborn, MI; front of the school
