Project description: Thank you for your interest in working for a better Rouge River by sprucing up the PARC gardens this spring and summer!

After three years in the ground, the PARC rain gardens are growing beautifully. To maintain these gardens at this time of year, we will be pulling out weeds and doing other tasks to give these native plants what they need to grow and spread, helping these gardens to be successful at their job.

These 25 gardens can collect and store up to 250,000 gallons of stormwater for each rain, helping to filter stormwater and reduce flooding in our Rouge River watershed. These hard-working native rain gardens also beautify our area and provide habitat to songbirds and pollinators.

Workday location:  Plymouth Arts & Recreation Complex (PARC) – – 650 Church St #209, Plymouth, MI 48170

Registered volunteers will be emailed specific meeting/parking instructions a few days prior to their scheduled workday.
