Sarah Avery

Born and raised in Paget, Bermuda, Sarah fell in love with the aquatic environment at a young age. After moving to Beaver Island, MI as a tween she continued to uncover her love for the environment through the land. After pursuing a B.A. from the University of Michigan she went on to complete her M.S. in Environment and Sustainability through U of M’s School for Environment and Sustainability. These days she loves to work with water and rest in trees.

Her love and passion from her experiences transferred well to the water quality monitoring intern position here with FOTR. Sarah enjoys getting outside and in the water for the importance of data collection and the positive impact it can have on water quality, and the creatures living in and around the watershed (including us humans).

In her downtime she loves training her dog (Bella) new tricks, baking, hiking/traveling with her dog and partner, and watercolouring!
